Maurice Sendak, beloved children's book author and illustrator, was best known for Where the Wild Things Are. Sendak suffered a stroke on Friday, and died early this Tuesday morning in a hospital in Danbury, Conn. according to the
Associated Press. I
wrote a little about him on his last birthday, June 10th.
He was never married and long time companion of more than 50 years, Eugene Glynn, died in 2007. He never had children. He will be sorely missed.
Somberly,
Angela
I am so sorry to read this. His books are brilliant. He will indeed be missed.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked at the news too. At least he was not alone when he passed away. Thank you for stopping by.
