RIP Maurice Sendak

Sept. 6, 2011 AP file photo of Sendak doing an interview at his home in Danbury, Conn.
Maurice Sendak, beloved children's book author and illustrator, was best known for Where the Wild Things Are. Sendak suffered a stroke on Friday, and died early this Tuesday morning in a hospital in Danbury, Conn. according to the Associated Press. I wrote a little about him on his last birthday, June 10th.

He was never married and long time companion of more than 50 years, Eugene Glynn, died in 2007. He never had children. He will be sorely missed.

Somberly,
Angela
