Winnie the Pooh Estate for Sale

images via Forbes.com
Cotchford Farm, the estate of the late A.A. Milne, is for sale for the first time in more than 40 years. Christopher Robin Milne grew up here. Winnie the Pooh was born here.

A.A. Milne bought the property in 1925 as a country retreat for him and his family.

Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones also lived here briefly. He purchased the home in 1968 and was found dead in the pool a year later. But that's kind of a downer. Back to the warm, fuzzy thoughts of Winnie the Pooh.

The home is located near Hartfield in East Sussex, about an hour's drive from London. The six-bedroom home, spread out over three floors, is perched on 9.5 beautiful acres. The property boasts a garden and a number of stone statues of Christopher Robin, Owl, and a sundial where Pooh and all his friends are incorporated beneath. A stream runs along the southern wooded boundary, with "Pooh Sticks Bridge" situated half a mile upstream.

Oh if only I had the $3.22 million, I'd snatch it up in a minute. I'd need a passport too.

  1. Besides the pool drowning- it is such a lovely home. So quaint! I love the history of the home. Sadly, I will just have to enjoy the pictures and the books.

    1. Oh, I know, Barbara. Wouldn't it be great? I couldn't even afford to pitch a tent in the backyard, though :)
