Stephanie Plum Notorious Nineteen Release Date

Source: Janet Evanovich and Barnaby

We finally have an answer as to when Will the Stephanie Plum Series Continue? Janet Evanovich has signed a deal with Random House for four more of our beloved Stephanie Plum novels, with Notorious Nineteen slated for release on November 20, 2012. There aren't any details yet of the shenanigans we can expect from Stephanie in the new novel. But of course, I am excited beyond belief to know there will be more.

Janet has also signed on to co-author four titles in a new series with Lee Goldberg.  The series will feature FBI agent Kate Winslow and international fugitive Danny Cole and will be a thrilling combination of crime, romance, and adventure. The first in the series is set for publication in the fall of 2013.

Source: Lee Goldberg
Lee Goldberg is no rookie when it comes to writing. He's written for a number of TV crime shows including: Diagnosis: Murder, Spenser For Hire, and most recently, Monk. Goldberg has written several original tie-in novels based on Diagnosis Murder and Monk. He's also penned several original crime novels which he wrote under the pseudonym Ian Ludlow. You can read more about him at his website.

Happy reading. Talk to you soon,
Angela

Will the Stephanie Plum Series Continue?

It's no secret that I love the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I first wrote about it here. Then I wrote about some read-alikes of the series. And my latest posts are of Smokin' Seventeen, Explosive Eighteen and the movie. But I was wondering if Janet was working on Nineteen, so I sent out an email to evanovich.com:
Message: Is there a Nineteen in the works? BTW, congratulations on the movie finally being done. We've waited a long time.
All the best,
Angela
I have to say they were fantastic and sent me a reply in less than 24 hours:
Hi Angela,

Ken here, Alex's assistant.  I'm helping with the email.

Not yet.  Janet is hard at work on Wicked Business, the next Diesel/Tucker book due out on June 19.  She'll roll up her sleeves on Plum Nineteen as soon as that manuscript has been turned in.  It's slated for sometime late next fall.

Best,

Ken

*UPDATE: Stephanie Plum Notorious Nineteen Release Date (6.26.12)

There. Now we have it. I, for one, can't wait for yet another side-splitting adventure. BTW, the novel Wicked Business that Janet is working on is the second in the Lizzy and Diesel series. The first is Wicked Appetite. Here's the synopsis in case you're interested:

Life in Marblehead has had a pleasant predictability, until Diesel arrives. Rumor has it that a collection of priceless ancient relics representing the Seven Deadly Sins have made their way to Boston’s North Shore. Partnered with pastry chef Lizzie Tucker, Diesel bullies and charms his way through historic Salem to track them down—and his criminal mastermind cousin Gerewulf Grimorie. The black-haired, black-hearted Wulf is on the hunt for the relic representing gluttony. Caught in a race against time, Diesel and Lizzie soon find out that more isn’t always better, as they battle Wulf and the first of the deadly sins.

Happy reading,

The Stephanie Plum Saga Continues with Explosive Eighteen

I finally was able to read Smokin' Seventeen by Janet Evanovich last week. I have to say I was a little disappointed. I didn't pee my pants laughing. Not once. But it would be inhumane to expect an author to knock it out of the park EVERY time. Will I stop reading my beloved Stephanie Plum series? Not a chance. I love the shenanigans she gets herself into. Very funny stuff.

The next book in the series, Explosive Eighteen comes out this month. It's release date is November 22. I'm very excited and hope it makes me laugh my ass off. Here's the synopsis:
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum’s life is set to blow sky high when international murder hits dangerously close to home, in this dynamite novel by Janet Evanovich.

Before Stephanie can even step foot off Flight 127 Hawaii to Newark, she’s knee deep in trouble. Her dream vacation turned into a nightmare, and she’s flying back to New Jersey solo. Worse still, her seatmate never returned to the plane after the L.A. layover. Now he’s dead, in a garbage can, waiting for curbside pickup. His killer could be anyone. And a ragtag collection of thugs and psychos, not to mention the FBI, are all looking for a photograph the dead man was supposed to be carrying.

Only one other person has seen the missing photo—Stephanie Plum. Now she’s the target, and she doesn’t intend to end up in a garbage can. With the help of an FBI sketch artist Stephanie re-creates the person in the photo. Unfortunately the first sketch turns out to look like Tom Cruise, and the second sketch like Ashton Kutcher. Until Stephanie can improve her descriptive skills, she’ll need to watch her back.

Over at the bail bonds agency things are going from bad to worse. The bonds bus serving as Vinnie’s temporary HQ goes up in smoke. Stephanie’s wheelman, Lula, falls in love with their largest skip yet. Lifetime arch nemesis Joyce Barnhardt moves into Stephanie’s apartment. And everyone wants to know what happened in Hawaii?

Morelli, Trenton’s hottest cop, isn’t talking about Hawaii. Ranger, the man of mystery, isn’t talking about Hawaii.  And all Stephanie is willing to say about her Hawaiian vacation is . . . It’s complicated.
The hardcover edition of Explosive Eighteen contains a tear-out calendar inside!

The movie version of One for the Money is slated for release on January 27, 2012. It stars Katherine Heigl as Stephanie, Jason O'Mara as Joe Morelli, Daniel Sunjata as Ranger, Debbie Reynolds as Grandma Mazur, and Sherri Shepherd as Lula. Were these the actors you would have chosen? I can see Sherri Shepherd as doing a very good Lula. I have my fingers crossed that it sticks to the book as close as possible. I hate seeing a movie of a book that I loved that barely resembles it. Feeling pretty optimistic with this one. Check out the trailer:

Happy reading,
Angela

Woo Hoo! Smokin' Seventeen Out Today

Smokin' Seventeen: A Stephanie Plum Novel
By now, you must know of my infatuation with the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. I've posted about it here and here. Today is the day. Smokin' Seventeen is officially released! Explosive Eighteen is slated for release on November 22. Oh, that's my mother-in-law's birthday, not that you would care.

But even more exciting for fans is that in January, the movie adaptation of One for the Money is scheduled to hit! It will star Katherine Heigl (with Plum's dark curly hair), Debbie Reynolds as Grandma Mazur, and SHERRI SHEPHARD as Lula. I AM THRILLED and can't wait.

Ok. Go Get Smokin' Seventeen. Run, don't walk. Don't tell me anything about it though. I'm still moving. The guys got the big stuff here, but I will be moving boxes for a while. I will stop boring you with the moving details unless something interesting happens.

Happy reading,
Angela
